The challenge / 01

What gets in the way of good leadership?

Often the first signs appear in everyday decisions, conversations, and the way people work together.

01 / Leadership

Always managing. Rarely leading.

Leaders get caught in operational work. Expectations and feedback become inconsistent.

02 / People

Good ideas stay unspoken.

Low trust and weak communication leave teams disconnected and talent at risk.

03 / Performance

Decisions stall.

Escalation, absenteeism, and uneven quality make progress harder to sustain.

The ACT approach / 02

Leadership grows through action.

Miriam brings strategy, action, and humanity together so leaders can lead with clarity and teams can do their best work.

You don’t have to be the loudest person in the room.

Lead with your strengths

Have you ever felt out of place as a leader because you’re not the loudest person in the room?

Leadership is not a personality contest. Visibility and assertiveness can shape how people perceive a leader, but perception is not the same as impact.

A different perspective on leadership

As an introverted manager leading a 100-person plant, I worked with a clearly extroverted manager. We had our alignments—and our clashes. We presented ourselves differently, challenged others differently, and interacted with our team in different ways.

At the time, I told myself we were simply two leaders with different styles. Yet I was also trying to validate my own. A training experience he organized for the leadership team changed how I understood effective leadership.

What stayed with me

  • Introversion and extroversion exist on a spectrum.
  • Introversion does not mean avoiding people.
  • Understanding how you recharge helps you understand your own needs.
  • Quietness does not necessarily mean shyness or a lack of confidence.

You don’t need to become an extrovert to lead effectively. Understand your strengths and flex when it matters.
